So Favre retired. Again.

We really want to see Favre every Sunday still - but on one of the pregame shows (He'd be great).  We'd love to see him just go to Mississippi and play golf and ride his Simplicity tractor.

But we don't think this Favre Fiasco is over.  It's too good to stop now (and by "good" we mean "awful"). In 2009, Favre will be a Viking.

He wants to stick it to the Packers. And where else can you stick to the Pack but in Minneapolis? Favre himself said, "they don’t want me to play? Then I’ll play somewhere else and show them I can still play."

He's going to get his wish.  He'll be in a Vikings uniform come preseason this summer.

By retiring now, he did the Jets a favor.  They didn't want him, they wanted to use his cap space to try to sign one of the Baltimore linebackers.  By retiring, they get that cap space.  If they released him, they'd have taken a cap hit.

So Favre and Bus Cook will work the system.  And when they've got a deal, he'll come out of retirement. The Jets will won't reinstate him, making him a free agent.  And Favre will sign with the Viqueens.

(We hope and wish that this won't happen.)

BTW, Favre is the "Conversation" for Friday night's Sportscenter (Feb 13), with Ed Werder (not via text message).
